Thank You Simi Valley Residents for Helping Us Keep our City Safe!
Street Light Outage?
Please go to the Southern California Edison website to report street light outage:
(1) Lock your car doors and keep valuables out of sight
(2) Lock your house when you're away and at night. Make sure all your locks on the doors and windows work.
(3) Do not give panhandlers money. To prevent drug and alcohol use with your money, give it to a local charity to assist the homeless
(4) Report crimes when they occur.
The Crime Prevention Unit is responsible for the creation and administration of crime prevention programs. A number of crime prevention programs have been developed to reduce the potential of Simi Valley residents, businesses, and visitors from becoming crime victims.
Crime Prevention Specialists from the Unit are available to make public presentations for organizations, businesses, and community groups throughout the City on a variety of Crime Prevention Topics (PDF), including Neighborhood Watch (PDF), Home Security (PDF), Operation Identification (PDF), and Business Crime Prevention (PDF). Here are some tips on how to avoid becoming a victim of Vehicle Burglary (PDF).
Citizen Alert and Business Alert are programs designed to assist in better protecting your home, family, community, and business employees and customers through timely communication. Through these subscription-based e-mail systems, the Police Department will be providing you with press releases, crime prevention information, wanted persons flyers, emergency updates, and more.
